Bodegas Riojanas ′Viña Albina′ Rioja Gran Reserva 2005

Bodegas Riojanas is one of Rioja’s great names. It began in 1890 and was instrumental in introducing Rioja to the world. Today, it remains fiercely traditional, and it’s because of these methods that its red wines age so well. This Gran Reserva was made from hand-picked grapes and aged for 36 months in oak and 16 years in the bottle in a temperature-controlled cellar. You can taste the benefits of ageing in notes of caramel and spice, but it’s still remarkably fruity, with vibrant notes of red fruits. Try it with roast lamb.
