Thanks to its great-quality soils and fantastic wines, Château Côte de Baleau was awarded prestigious Grand Cru Classé status in 2012. This is made there from 90% Merlot grapes, with Cabernets Franc and Sauvignon playing a supporting role. It has fresh flavours of Morello cherry, blackberry, black plum, raspberry and sweet spices and fine tannins. The 2016 vintage scored 91 Decanter points. Try it with roast beef.
