Château Pavie Macquin is a small 15-hectare estate which sits opposite Château Pavie. It’s one of the few estates in this illustrious spot of Saint-Émilion which is still family owned, and it boasts prestigious Premier Grand Cru Classé B status. Today, the vineyard is managed by Nicholas Thienpont, of Le Pin fame, entirely organically. You’ll taste the benefits in this Merlot-dominated claret. It has spicy, peppery aromas, red-fruit flavours and supple, velvety tannins which are great with the fattiness of duck.
