This is made by one of Beaujolais’ finest winemakers, Jean-Paul Dubost, on a Cru (officially recognised sub-region) known for its full-bodied Gamay. Old vines make the tastiest grapes, and Jean-Paul’s are, on average, 70 years old. To top it off, the wine is aged partially in oak – so you can expect a tremendously rich Beaujolais. It’s full-bodied and smooth, with juicy red-fruit flavours and rich tannins. Try it with duck breast.
