Louis Latour Santenay Blanc 2018

Santenay is best-known for its Pinot Noir. In fact, just 5% of the region’s wine is white. But what little there is tastes fantastic. This one is made by Louis Latour, one of Burgundy’s biggest names. As Santenay is the most southerly village in the Côte de Beaune, it benefits from a warmer climate. As a result, the wine is ripe and pronounced. An excellent alternative to the more expensive nearby regions, Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet. This pale-golden wine has flavours of pears, peaches and dried fruits and a long finish. Its subtle-yet-rounded character makes a great match for shellfish.
