When the Limousin family began Bodegas Olarra in 1970, they soon set a new standard of winemaking in Rioja. And they’ve built more than a reputation for quality. Their winery is an iconic landmark on Rioja’s landscape, with a patchwork of pointed roofs covering Olarra’s vast underground cellar. The distinguished architecture has earned it the nickname ‘The Great Cathedral of Rioja’. Today, the estate is managed by the family’s third generation, with one of Spain’s best winemakers, Javier Martínez de Salinas, having been on board since 1998. Working with growers across Rioja Alta, Baja and Alavesa, only the best grapes are selected to make this Reserva. It spends 18 months in oak casks before it’s left to rest in bottle to develop complexity. Discover vibrant notes of red berries, liquorice and hints of smokiness.
