Penfolds ′Bin 389′ Cabernet Sauvignon-Shiraz 2018/19, Australia

Penfolds is unquestionably one of Australia’s finest producers. Its most famous wine, Grange, today costs £500+. This is affectionately referred to as ‘Baby Grange’ by the winery, as it’s partly aged in barrels that the year before held its much-desired sibling. It’s a blend of almost equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz that has flavours of liquorice, stewed plum, blackcurrant, dark chocolate and coffee. Drink now with slow-cooked lamb or age until 2040.
